How the craps simulator works

This is a free craps game and strategy tester that runs in your browser with virtual money. Nothing is wagered for real, and no account is needed.

Play craps

Open Play to practice at a virtual table. Click the felt to place pass line, don't pass, come, field, place and lay bets, then roll. Once a point is set, add odds behind your pass line in the odds box. Place bets pay 7:6 on the 6 and 8, 7:5 on the 5 and 9 and 9:5 on the 4 and 10, and are sized in $5 units ($6 on the 6 and 8) so they pay the full price. Your bankroll and a roll-by-roll log update as you play, and a built-in coach narrates each roll and warns when a large share of your bankroll is on the table.

Test a strategy

Open Test a Strategy to run one of 14 preset betting strategies — including pass line with odds, don't pass, the Iron Cross, Martingale, laying all numbers and the All Tall / All Small side bets — over a set number of rolls or shooters. Choose the base bet, starting bankroll and table odds, then watch it roll live or get the result instantly, with a bankroll chart and a roll-by-roll log.

Build and compare your own

The Custom Builder lets you choose place and lay numbers, pass, don't pass, come and don't come bets, odds behind the line, and press, collect or regress rules by hit count. Compare All runs every preset and your custom strategy 20 times with the same settings and ranks them by average final bankroll, alongside the best and worst runs and how often each went broke.

Reading the results

Each simulation is one random sequence of rolls, so short sessions swing widely in both directions. When you test a single preset strategy, the results show its expected house edge — what its bets cost on average over many rolls — next to the edge your run actually produced. Betting systems change how much you wager and how your bankroll swings; they do not change the house edge built into each bet. Payouts are made in whole dollars, so odd bet amounts can cost slightly more. Use the simulator to see a strategy's risk and variance before you play, not to predict or beat the casino.
